Description:

Our client is a multi-channel and multi product retail business with eight active brands. The business largely trades with its customers through mail order supported by four flagship retail outlets based in the Cotswold and an increasingly successful web business.

This is a new role within the main brand of the business, reporting to the Group Multichannel Marketing Director.

The role holder will be responsible for leading a small Marketing team focussed primarily on driving sales and transactions through our clients Hard Goods websites.

The role holder will see themselves as a Trader, with primary responsibility for owning the delivery of their trading plans for the allocated websites, for delivering a marketing plan, ensuring site usability, driving conversion, raising AOV and maximising Sales/Margin. There will be plenty of specialist support but the successful candidate will be the key driver for delivering results.

Key Objectives:

  • To manage several of our clientBrand websites, delivering an optimal customer journey to increase conversion, AOV and Sales/Margin
  • Engage with the Buyers, Merchandisers and extended range suppliers to incrementally grow Range/Sales/Margin
  • To project lead the integration of the extended range ensuring this has no negative impact on existing range or the customer journey – whether this be through Direct Despatch for a Marketplace model

Specific Responsibilities:

  • To determine the optimal approach to delivering maximum revenue through the websites, focusing on two targets:
  • ensuring maximum conversion and upsell of catalogue/Media Insert/OTP customers who visit the website
  • to convert new and existing visitors who are pureplay shoppers
  • To be responsible for agreeing with Directors the online promotional and marketing message working within the Multichannel Marketing plan
  • Responsible for ensuring the site is optimised and fully updated to increase sales, AOV and conversion
  • Work with the Creative Services Manager on design and UX
  • Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to optimise paid marketing
  • Oversee Multichannel Marketing team who are working on emails, banners, landing pages and other marketing aspects of each Brand to deliver maximum conversion and revenue. While working across all channels, ensuring that we obtain materials, build promotional offers and deliver an optimal journey for customers who visit the websites
  • Oversee a Content Team with responsibility for quality of the site and ensuring all product content is search friendly and SEO optimised
  • Ultimate responsibility for site revenue and gross profit
  • Ensure detailed reporting and analytics are provided daily, weekly and monthly
  • Support the COO and Group Multichannel Marketing Director with projects and adhoc duties
  • Keep up to date with industry events, trends and updates and use this data to update the business on developments and opportunities to enhance the offering

Candidate Specification

Experience:

  • Retail and Ecommerce experience is essential
  • Experience in trading a successful B2C retail website, with responsibility for campaign management and delivery of sales targets
  • Online Marketing experience and full understanding of the Ecommerce model, including Search, SEO, Paid marketing etc.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced excel/data handling skills
  • Proven leadership qualities
  • A good technical understanding of how websites work and experience of working with technical development teams
  • Ability to work closely and in partnership with the Directors whilst able to challenge decisions
  • A demonstrated ability to analyse issues and present practical solutions in a clear manner supported by sound reasoning
  • Capable of having clarity of vision, and ability to plan and anticipate events
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking by disseminating information from varied sources into clear strategy supported by sound reasoning and logic

Location

The role will be based at our clients headquarters in Wiltshire with occasional additional travel to other business locations as well as visits to key suppliers.
