Description:

Our client are looking to improve their Customer Experience, improve their websites and deliver a strong CRM program. Our client has over 25 years of Cotswold Heritage, and has utilised this to help the group’s business grow significantly with net sales exceeding £60m.

Background to the Role

This is a new role within the business reporting to the Senior Online Merchandiser (Hard Goods). The role holder will be responsible for guiding a small Marketing team focussed primarily on driving sales and transactions.

The role holder will see themselves as a Trader, with primary responsibility for owning the delivery of their trading plans for the website, for delivering a marketing plan, ensuring site usability, driving conversion, raising AOV and maximising Sales/Margin. There will be plenty of specialist support but the successful candidate will be the key driver for delivering results.

Key Objectives

  • Delivering an optimal customer journey to increase conversion, AOV and Sales/Margin
  •  Showing a passion in how they can deliver a beautiful and engaging, content rich, web experience for their customer base
  • Engage with our Buyers, Merchandisers and extended range suppliers to incrementally grow Range/Sales/Margin, ensuring any extended range can enhance our offering without diminishing the customer experience
  • To determine the optimal approach to delivering maximum revenue through their  focusing on two targets:
    • ensuring maximum conversion and upsell of catalogue/media insert/OTP customers who visit the website
    • to convert new and existing visitors who are pureplay shoppers
  • To be responsible for agreeing with Directors the online promotional and marketing message working within the Multichannel Marketing plan
  • Responsible for ensuring the site is optimised and fully updated to increase sales, AOV and conversion
  • Work with the Creative Services Manager on design and UX
  • Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to optimise paid marketing
  • Help guide a Multichannel Marketing team who are working on emails, banners, landing pages and other marketing aspects of the Brand to deliver maximum conversion and revenue. While working across all channels, ensuring that we obtain materials, build promotional offers and delivery an optimal journey for customers who visit the websites
  • Help guide a Content Team with responsibility for quality of our site and ensuring all product content is search friendly and SEO optimised
  • Responsibility for site revenue and gross profit
  • Ensure detailed reporting and analytics are provided daily, weekly and monthly
  • Support the COO, Group Multichannel Marketing Director and Senior Online Merchandiser with projects and adhoc duties
  • Keep up to date with industry events, trends and updates and use this data to update the business on developments and opportunities to enhance our offering

Candidate Specification

Experience

  • An interest in home décor would be a plus
  • Retail and Ecommerce experience is preferential
  • Experience in trading a successful B2C retail website, with responsibility for campaign management and delivery of sales targets would be a bonus
  • Online Marketing experience and full understanding of the Ecommerce model, including Search, SEO, Paid marketing etc. would be a bonus
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced excel/data handling skills
  • A good technical understanding of how websites work and experience of working with technical development teams is a bonus
  • Ability to work closely and in partnership with the Directors whilst able to challenge decisions
  • A demonstrated ability to analyse issues and present practical solutions in a clear manner supported by sound reasoning
  • Capable of having clarity of vision, and ability to plan and anticipate events
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking by disseminating information from varied sources into clear strategy supported by sound reasoning and logic

Location:

The role will be based at the Head Office in Wiltshire with occasional additional travel to other business locations as well as visits to key suppliers.
