Our client is one of the leading multi branded luxury Online destinations in the UK. Based in London our client is seeking a talented and passionate Homewares Buyer. You will ideally come from a Homewares branded background with an abundance of drive and commerciality

You need to be hungry, prepared to tackle challenges head-on and want to work in a very fast-paced, dynamic culture alongside like-minded people. Our client care about their people and reward hard-work with a lot of social activities.

The role will involve own planning and delivering the strategy for your category, managing existing suppliers and optimising the quality of sales as well as some brand acquisition. You will be expected to strengthen relationships with existing brands, focusing on bringing new and exciting product ranges to our clients customer base at enticing prices. You will be motivated to work in a very fast-pace, dynamic environment alongside talented teams in marketing, operations, creative and technology.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to Category Buying Managers but having plenty of exposure to the CEO and Chief Commercial Officer
  • Delivering personal targets and contributing to team goals
  • Full accountability for your category
  • Build long-term, trusted relationships with the key brands in your category
  • Improve the quality of your deals, boosting the importance of your category in the overall mix
  • Benchmark against their competitors on brand and pricing
  • Negotiate the best possible price and payment terms for the stock and reserve the desired amount
  • Daily & monthly critical path management

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years proven experience within a Buying capacity, or similar
  • A relevant degree is desirable, but not essential
  • Educated to a degree level
  • Advanced negotiation skills
  • Excellent brand/category awareness
  • Strong sector & market knowledge
  • Desire to work in a fast paced, challenging environment
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong influencing skills
